(Photo by Joe Robbins/Getty Images)The Penn State Nittany Lions enjoyed yet another successful campaign under James Franklin in 2018, finishing 9-4 with a narrow loss in the Citrus Bowl.The NFL has taken notice of the team’s strong season and has sent a bunch of invites to Penn State’s pro-ready stars for the upcoming NFL combine.Per, seven Penn State players have been invited to the NFL combine: quarterback Trace McSorley, offensive lineman Ryan Bates, defensive lineman Kevin Givens, offensive lineman Connor McGovern, edge rusher Shareef Miller, cornerback Amani Oruwariye, and running back Miles Sanders.INDY BOUND! 7⃣ Nittany Lions are headed to the 2019 #NFLCombine.?:— Penn State Football (@PennStateFball) February 7, 2019 McSorley was a three-year starter for the Nittany Lions, and finished his career with 9,899 passing yards, 77 touchdowns and a completion rate of 59.3-percent.Sanders got his first chance to start at running back this past year and rewarded the team with 1,274 rushing yards and nine touchdowns on 5.8 yards per carry.Miller finished second on the team in tackles for loss (15.0) and sacks (7.5).Oruwariye was tied for the team lead on defense with three interceptions, and led the team with 11 passes defended.Last year the Nittany Lions had one of their best classes in recent memory, with future-Rookie of the Year Saquon Barkley highlighting a class of six Penn State players getting drafted.last_img
